About Me
Hello! I’m Wendy Attmore, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering online therapy for adults in Tennessee and North Carolina. I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, ADHD, and more through a through a warm, direct, and practical approach.
I'm a recovering perfectionist. I've learned firsthand that fulfillment doesn't come from doing everything right — it comes from living in alignment with what actually matters to you. I bring that perspective into the room with every client.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and spent years in management consulting, working with high-performing teams under real pressure. I know what it's like to operate in demanding environments where vulnerability isn't exactly on the agenda — where you're expected to have the answers, hold it together, and keep moving. That experience shapes how I work with clients every day, especially professionals and men who are used to solving problems but find that this particular one doesn't respond to harder work or more willpower.
I later earned my MSW from the University of Tennessee and began my clinical work in a psychiatric hospital, supporting adults facing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and psychosis. Since then I've worked in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and group private practice settings — giving me a broad clinical foundation that informs the practical, skills-based approach I use today.
I’ve called the Nashville area home for over 15 years, where I live with my husband, two sons, and our dog, Boone. Outside of therapy, I enjoy traveling (especially to the mountains of North Carolina) and spending time with my family.
